What is a wall mount bike rack?
Wall-mounted bike stands are storage solutions that hold bicycles securely against a wall. When floor space is limited, they use the vertical wall space for storage and organisation. Bicycle hangers for walls allow users to lock the main bike frame, the wheels, or both, for enhanced security.
Types of Bicycle Storage Wall Mount
Horizontal Cycle Rack for Wall:
These bicycle wall storage racks securely hold the frame in horizontal alignment. Ideal for storing bicycles above car bonnets, they are a good solution for car parks and garages.
Vertical Wall Mounted Bicycle Holder:
Storing a bike vertically helps save valuable floor space. Vertical bicycle wall racks lock both the wheel and the frame. Clustered vertical bike racks can make the most of your wall space by making room for multiple bikes.
Dynamic Wall Mounted Bike Racks:
Dynamic racks can rotate, allowing you to reposition your bike quickly. These are great for flexibility, without compromising on accessibility.
Bicycle Wall Mounts FAQ’s
What types of bikes are compatible with this rack?
The benefits of a wall-mounted bike rack is that almost any bicycle (except e-bikes and cargo bikes) will be compatible with these racks. Wall bike racks come in horizontal and vertical designs, which are designed to fit standard bicycle sizes.
Can I use bicycle wall mounts for multiple bikes?
No, a wall mounted bike rack can only hold one bicycle at a time. However, multiple bicycle wall racks can be installed next to each other as long as the minimum spacing between 2 racks is 500 mm.
Is wall mounted bike storage suitable for indoor and outdoor use?
Wall bike racks from Classic Architecture Group are intended for both indoor and outdoor use and can be installed in bike storage areas in residential apartments, offices or end-of-trip facilities.
They are made from stainless steel or galvanised steel. Both materials offer excellent weather resistance and durability.
What is the recommended height for mounting wall bike rack storage?
Australian regulations (AS 2890) outlines the minimum space required to accommodate a standard bicycle:
Length: 1800mm
Width: 500mm
Height: 1200mm
While there are no regulations around the height of installation, it is suggested that wall bike rack mounts should be installed between 1500mm to 2000mm from the ground.
