A new animated red, PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta writes a new narrative of joyous and optimistic celebration. Living in an increasingly digital age, the Pantone Color Institute drew inspiration from nature and the “real” when making this colour choice. As we balance our digital and physical lives, we continue to grow our appreciation for the natural world. The Color of the Year 2023 acknowledges our gravitational pull towards natural colours as movements swell around climate change, sustainability, and land protection.

PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta descends from the red family, and is inspired by the red of cochineal, one of the most precious dyes belonging to the natural dye family as well as one of the strongest and brightest the world has known.
