Project Details

555 Collins Street is a new commercial development located in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. Designed by renowned architects Cox Architecture and Gensler, the project features a 37 storey, 160 metre building combining office and retail spaces. Built within the constraints of the existing structure of the former 1970’s building, the tower includes a new and deeper basement. It comprises large cantilevers and raking columns to the north and east elevations and was designed with a tapered top to prevent overshadowing the Yarra River’s north bank.

555 Collins Street offers a connected and engaging workplace that enhances the experience for workers and prioritises occupant comfort and wellness, while also anticipating the needs of the future workforce in Melbourne. Atriums within the towers’ lower levels promote collaboration, social interaction, and activity, while a connection to daylight and views is optimised on all floors and is intended to lift the human spirit.

Acknowledging the significant carbon contribution of the primary structural frame, the design took proactive measures to minimise greenhouse gas emissions. Using grid optimisation and low carbon concrete the overall environmental impact of the building which effectively reduced, achieving the highest possible Green Star rating with a 6-star award.

CAG Key Deliverables

Classic Architectural group supplied and installed a variety of products from our extensive range, this included Integra Entrance Matting, Tredfx Safety Stair Nosings and Tactiles, as well as Skatestop Skate Deterrents. The Verse R200 Entrance Mat featured in the main entry is a custom design, constructed in a black skimmed anodised finish. Our Classic Tredfx Solid Brass range was a standout feature within this project, its high-end finish and luxury aesthetic complimenting the design perfectly.

Our team also conducted extensive LRV testing onsite, ensuring all installed Classic products met the required safety standards. This required our team to individually test all stone surfaces, ensuring all products were compliant.

  • 555 Collins Street has achieved a Platinum WELL Rating, 6 star Green Star Design rating, WIRED Platinum Score and is targeting to be Carbon Neutral in operations, 6 star NABERS Waste rating, 5 star NABERS Energy rating, 4 star NABERS Water rating, and a 5 star NABERS Indoor Environment rating.
