Kardinia Park – GMHBA Stadium.
Kardinia Park (formerly Simonds Stadium) is a sporting and entertainment venue located within Kardinia Park, South Geelong, Victoria. The stadium, which is owned and operated by the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust, is the home ground of the Geelong Football Club. The capacity of Kardinia Park is 34,000, making is the largest capacity Austalian stadium in a regional city (i.e. outside a capital city). With hudreds of thousands of footfalls expected annually, the infrastructure needs to be built with due consideration for facility access to people of all ages and abilities (including those with some form of physical impairment). In addition, the entrances and stairs need to ensure safe passage for people during wet days, while keeping the facility aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
